INFORMATION OFFICER
Dr Peter Thompson has been designated as the Information Officer for BlueWing
Local Marketing is responsible for ensuring compliance with POPIA.
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE PROCESS
We process the following categories of personal information:
- Contact details: name, email address, telephone number
- Business information: business name, website, location, Google Business Profile
details shared during a diagnostic or engagement - Communication records: emails and messages exchanged during an enquiry or
engagement
We do not process special personal information as defined under POPIA (such as
health data, financial data beyond engagement fees, or biometric data).
PURPOSE OF PROCESSING
We process personal information solely for the following purposes:
- To respond to enquiries about our services
- To deliver AI visibility consulting services to clients
- To fulfil our contractual obligations to clients
- To comply with legal and regulatory requirements
LAWFUL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
We process personal information on the following lawful grounds under POPIA:
- Consent: where you have voluntarily contacted us or engaged our services
- Contractual necessity: where processing is required to deliver agreed services
- Legitimate interest: where processing is necessary for our normal business
operations and does not override your rights
SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share personal
information with third parties except:

- Where you have explicitly authorised us to share information with your developer
or other service providers as part of your engagement
DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for the duration of your engagement and for a
period of five years thereafter, in accordance with standard South African business
record-keeping requirements. You may request earlier deletion where legally
permissible.
TRANSBORDER FLOWS
We do not transfer personal information outside South Africa except where
necessary to deliver services using internationally hosted tools (such as email).
Where such transfers occur, we take reasonable steps to ensure equivalent
protection applies.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or outdated information
- Object to the processing of your personal information
- Request that processing be restricted in certain circumstances
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
